The Origins of Blackjack

Blackjack was originated from France in the sixteenth century.  It was suggested that the direct antecedent of blackjack is a French game called chemin de fer. During the sixteenth century, many games were played. However, the Vingt-et-un game is the most popular game in France. The Vingt-et-un is also called 21 in France. The numbers of players in the Vingt-et-un game is 5 persons.

Later, it spread to other places including the United States and the French colonies. During that time, gamblers hid in a club to play the blackjack game because the cops are always on patrol on the street.  In 1920s, the blackjack gambling situation grows worse until it was very widespread throughout the United States. In 1989,the Las Vegas Nevada casino made the felony blackjack game a legal game in Nevada. In 1978, a law orders that the blackjack gambling become legal in the Atlantic City in New Jersey.

The One and Thirty blackjack is another popular version that was developed in Spain. In Blackjack thirty one, the winner is required to reach 31 with at least 3 cards.

During the reign of the Roman emperors, the blackjack game was also played by its citizens. The Romans use wooden blocks instead of cards to play the game. Despite that, there is no evidence to prove its existence.

The Blackjack 21 is the most popular blackjack game in the world. The rule of the traditional Blackjack 21 game is different than the modern Blackjack game. In the traditional Blackjack, the player can double.

Due to its origins from France, it is still known as Blackjack 21. The name blackjack was taken from the ace symbol on the card. The rule for wining in blackjack 21 is the same as Vingt-et-un. In Blackjack 21, the player is required to reach 21 to win the game
